Bhubaneswar: Eminent Odia writer Manoj Kumar Panda passed away at his residence in Balangir town on Thursday. He was 66.
According to family sources, Panda felt chest pain in the evening and was admitted in the district headquarters hospital where he breathed his last due to cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife.
Panda was conferred Sarala Award for his collection of short stories ‘Maya Bagicha’ in 2015.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his condolence to Panda’s family. The writer will always be remembered for his literary creations, said the chief minister in his condolence message.
