Eminent Ollywood Music Director Bachu Mukherjee Passes Away

Baripada: Well-known Ollywood music director Bachu Mukherjee passed away at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital here late on Sunday night following a massive heart attack. He was 62.

According to family sources, Mukherjee was brought to the medical college in the night after he complained of acute chest pain. However, the doctors pronounced him as brought dead.

People in large numbers rushed to Mukherjee’s residence here to pay their last respects.

Mukherjee began his career as an assistant music director under eminent music director Saroj Patnaik in the Odia film “Phula Chandana” and went on to become a leading music director. He was known for his melodious music in popular Ollywood movies like “Katha Rahijiba Kalakalaku”, “Gopare Badhuchhi Kala Kanhei”, “Mate Ta Love Helare” and Suna Chadhei”.

“We never thought that Bachu Da will leave us so early,” said Ollywood actor Asit Pati, mourning the death of the popular music director.
