Bhubaneswar: Eminent writer and researcher Krushna Chandra Behera passed away at a private hospital here on Saturday. He was 85.
He was undergoing treatment for old age-related ailments for the past 15 days.
Born on June 2, 1932 in Arjunabindha village in Bhadrak district, Behera has written many popular Odia books including 54 Bhanubai Lane, Laghu Panchaka, Srusthi ra Swapna, Debi, Gopana Patra, Nari Medha, Katha Sahitya, Shree Jagannath O’ Odia Sahitya and Ekabinsa Satabdi Ra Odia Sahitya.
Behera was honoured with several prestigious awards, including the Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award, for his immense contribution in the field of literature. He had been working as the founder and president of Odisha Gabesana Pratisthan since 1978.
