Emphasis On New Faces For Assembly Polls: Niranjan

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled next year, the Odisha Congress has decided to give emphasis on new faces and priority to candidates on basis of winnability.

Talking to mediapersons after the first meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) at the Congress Bhawan here, Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Niranjan Patnaik said apart from these two criteria, the sitting party MLAs will also be given the ticket.

“For the forthcoming Assembly elections, PCC is preparing the guidelines for the selection of the party candidates,” he added.

There will be no discrimination in the allotment of party tickets like previous years, Opposition chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati said.
