Sonepur: Police have arrested two persons, including an engineer, for raping a woman.
According to police, the victim, a native of Biramaharajpur was staying at a short-stay home in Sonepur.
On Sunday, she had come to the bus stand in Sonepur to catch a bus to Sambalpur. Finding her alone, one Sashikant Sethi, a junior engineer of WESCO and his associate Ganesh Sahu offered to drop her in Sambalpur in their vehicle.
Later, the duo took her to a house and offered her food laced with sedatives and raped her.
As the victim, under the influence of the sedatives, came out of the house and started creating hullabaloo on the road, police picked her and admitted her to the district headquarters hospital.
As the woman later became normal and narrated the incident, police arrested the duo on Monday and later forwarded them to the court.
