Puri: Engineer Girija Shankar Mishra, who was found begging in Puri’s Badadanda on Saturday, was taken back home by his family members on Sunday.
Girija Shankar made headlines on Saturday when he filed a complaint in English at the Puri Town Police Station against a rickshaw puller.
The beggar had a bloody fight with the rickshaw puller over parking the tricycle, resulting in both of them getting injured. Later, Girija Shankar, the beggar lodged a complaint at the Puri Town police station.
Asked why he had taken up begging despite his education, Girija Shankar replied that he did not want to compromise on his principles while working in the corporate sector. He had passed a diploma in Plastic Engineering from a reputed engineering college in Bhubaneswar, he revealed. Girija also added that he is a resident of Jaydev Vihar area and his father was a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
