Koraput: Electronics engineer Sisir Mallik from Odisha’s Koraput, known for his innovative and useful creations, is once again the talk of the town. This time, he has made a safety belt for the protection and safety of women.

The safety belt, to be worn around the waste, is connected with GPS and operated through the mobile phone. Whenever women feel insecure anywhere, they can press the button on the belt. An alarm will be activated immediately. Her family members will also be able to track her through GPS system.

“It took me two months to make this belt and cost me Rs 1,100,” informed Sisir.

Earlier, he had developed a mini sanitizer machine, which can sanitize 50 people at a time. He had also created a Robo helmet that helps strengthen security forces.

“Nowadays, people worry about safety of women and girls. To provide them protection, I thought of making this safety belt,” he added.

Sisir, who works in a private company, has come in for praise for his latest ‘discovery’, as this belt can also be helpful in child-trafficking cases.
