Bhubaneswar: An engineer died and seven others were injured when the vehicles in which they were travelling collided head-on on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar late on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Kumar Samantray of Khurda.
Police said that the engineer driving to Khurda when another vehicle coming from the opposite direction rammed into his car, killing him on the spot. Besides, the driver and six persons in the other vehicle were injured.
The incident took place near a filling station between Jaanla and Tamando.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to the district headquarters hospital in Khurda.
The body of the engineer was later taken for postmortem.
