Bhubaneswar: An engineering student was found hanging in a rented room in Punama Gate area of Bhubaneswar on Sunday, reports said.
The deceased has been identified as Siddhartha Nayak, a resident of Tirtol area in Jagatsinghpur district who had moved into the rented accommodation under the jurisdiction of Lingaraj police station recently, they said.
A student of a private engineering college in Bhubaneswar, he used to go to attend classes. As he did not open his room despite repeated knocks on the door, neighbours informed the police, they said.
A team police personnel reached the spot broke the door and found that Siddhartha was hanging from the ceiling of the room.
While the youth was suspected to have committed suicide, investigation is in progress to ascertain the cause of death. The body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem.
