Engineering Student Goes Missing While Bathing In River In Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: An engineering student has gone missing while bathing in Brahmani river in Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday.

As per reports, Sanat Kumar Mahalaik, the final year student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT) at Sarang in the district, had gone to take bath in the river flowing near the campus.

While bathing, Sanat slipped and got dragged into deep water by a strong current in the river. As he did not return to the hostel for a long time, his friends informed the authorities.

A police team accompanied by Fire service personnel went to the spot. While the police started investigation, the Fire personnel launched a search operation. But they could not trace Sanat, who belonged to Balasore, till the report was filed.
