Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police here on Monday arrested an engineering student for allegedly blackmailing his ex-girlfriend.
The accused has been identified as Devi Prasad Pati (20). He is an engineering student of a reputed college in the city.
He was in a relationship with a girl and had clicked some photographs with her. Later, the couple broke up.
Threatening to circulated the photographs on social, Devi then began to demand cash and gold from her.
The girl later registered a complaint against Devi. The police have recovered gold ornaments, Rs 10,000 cash and a mobile phone from his possession, which he had forcibly taken from the girl.
Devi has been arrested under multiple sections of the IPC.
