Engineering Student Injured In ‘Stabbing’ In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A youth was critically injured as he was allegedly stabbed by another youth in the city on Friday evening.

According to sources, both the youths are pursuing engineering in colleges in the city and are known to each other. The accused stabbed the other youth, identified as Priyaranjan, near the latter’s house in Sailashree Vihar. The victim, who started bleeding profusely due to the stabbing, was admitted to hospital.

Following the incident, police rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Acting on the inputs from eyewitnesses, the police nabbed the accused and detained him in the police station.

The incident is suspected to be fallout of old rivalry. The two youths were reportedly in love with one girl.
