Cuttack: England skipper Jos Buttler on Sunday won the toss and opted to bat against India in the second ODI at Barabati Stadium in Odisha’s Cuttack city.
“We are going to bat first today. We have been pushing in the right direction, play better for longer and hopefully have a good day today. Looks a bit dry, black soil. Looks a good wicket. Three changes, Mark Wood, Gus Atkinson and Jamie Overton come into the XI,” Buttler informed.
Jacob Bethell was the surprise player missing out despite his 50 in the last game.
India, which will be eyeing an unassailable lead in the 3-match series after the 4-wicket win in the opener in Nagpur, retained Shreyas Iyer despite the return of Virat Kohli in the Playing XI.
While Yashasvi Jaiswal was dropped, Varun Chakravarthy became India’s second-oldest debutant as he replaced Kuldeep Yadav.
