English Question Paper Of Annual HSC Exams Leaked, Crime Branch Begins Probe

Cuttack: The Crime Branch police on Monday began probe into the leakage of English question paper of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations.

The state investigating agency began probe after receiving a report on leakage of English question papers which were found uploaded on social media like the Facebook and WhatsApp.

Sources said the question papers were uploaded in these two social media at 10.51 AM, about one and half hour of the examination.

The leaked question papers uploaded on the social media were found similar to the original question papers, the sources added.

However, it is not yet known as to from where the question paper was leaked and the person who has uploaded it.

Following information, two officials of the Crime Branch Cyber Cell went to the headquarters office of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and interrogated the Board officials for nearly four hours. Later, they returned after collecting some important documents from the Board office.

Similar incident had taken place on the first day of the HSC examinations when MIL (Odia) question papers were found uploaded on WhatsApp and circulated in Aul market area in Kendrapara district on February 23.

When contacted, School and Mass Education minister Badri Narayan Patra said the report aired by a news channel is not correct.

“There is no leakage of English question paper. The alleged leakage has been made half an hour before the conclusion of the examination. Such reports are deliberately done with malafide intentions which will have negative repercussions on the students,” he pointed out.

The minister said the Crime Branch Cyber Cell has been asked to probe into the incident under the supervision of the Additional DG, Crime Branch.

However, the questions were found fake after investigation which was clarified later by the School and Mass Education minister Badri Narayan Patra and secretary, Pradipta Mohapatra.
