Enough Stock Of Oxygen Cylinders In Odisha: IPICOL MD Nitin Jawale

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has enough stock of oxygen cylinders for emergency use for critically ill patients.

Speaking to mediapersons on Sunday, Managing Director, Industrial Promotion and Investment Corporation of Odisha (IPICOL) Nitin Bhanudas Jawale said the daily requirement of oxygen cylinders in the state during the peak period of COVID-19 was 16,000. However, with the mobilisation of resources, a number of industries in the state revved up the production of oxygen. As a result, the state now has a stock of about 40,000 oxygen cylinders.

Apart from production of oxygen in Odisha, the state has been receiving more oxygen refilled cylinders with 5,000 cylinders provided by the steel major ArcelorMittal today.

“With this, the state has now more than two times of its present requirement of oxygen which will be immensely useful to deal with any emergency situation in future,” he pointed out.
