Ensure Promotion Of Eligible Govt Employees By Dec 31: CM Tells Department Heads

Bhubaneswar: There is good news for government employees in Odisha as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday directed the authorities of all departments to complete the process for the promotion of eligible employees by December 31 every year.

According to a release by the Chief Minster’s Office (CMO), instructions have been given to the concerned department authorities to expedite the process to ensure the promotion of eligible employees from January 1. The promotion will also be applicable to all eligible employees in all government offices at the district and the state level as well as the offices of the heads of the department.

The authorities of all the departments, department heads and the district collectors have been directed to send the list of the eligible employees to the chief secretary by the evening on December 31.

The release also made it clear that the authorities of the concerned departments will be held responsible if any eligible employee is deprived of promotion to a higher rank.
