Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Rajendra Prasad Sharma on Saturday directed SPs of all districts and other senior police personnel to ensure safety of people staying in various hotels and lodges across the state.
According to fresh guidelines issued in this regard, security will be intensified in all hotels, lodges and guest houses in the wake of recent incidents of terror and other criminal activities reported from different parts of the country.
The hotel, lodge and other guest house owners in the state have been asked to install CCTV cameras at entry and exit points and other prominent locations to keep an eye on suspicious elements. They have also been asked to ensure timely registration and renewal as per Sarai Act with the district collectors concerned and police.
The notification also laid special emphasis on proper verification of occupants before room allotment and submission of reports regarding them on daily basis at police stations.
