Equipment Worth Rs 60 Lakh Stolen From Capital Hospital In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Several equipment have allegedly been stolen from the diagnostic laboratory of the Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. The estimated value of the stolen articles was put at over Rs 60 lakh.

The scene of the theft has reportedly been captured by CCTV installed at the medical. The theft was suspected to have been committed in connivance with some sweepers and security guards deployed in the hospital, sources said.

A complaint has been lodged with the police following the incident which came to light on Wednesday and investigation is in progress.

Describing the incident as serious, Director of the Capital Hospital Laxmidhar Sahoo said several newly procured equipment and instruments were among the articles stolen.

The value of the stolen items is around Rs 60 lakh, he said, adding that stern action would be taken against those involved in the incident.
