Nabarangpur: Police on Tuesday traced the COVID-19 patient who had escaped from COVID Care Centre here on Monday.
The male patient had escaped from the centre by scaling the boundary wall and gone to his house at Benara under Umarkote block. The police brought him and admitted in the centre again.
Nabarangpur Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra had on Monday said the 50-year-old patient was shifted to the COVID care centre after he tested positive for the virus on July 3. Superintendent of the COVID hospital Santosh Nag had lodged a complaint at Nabarangpur police station.
Following investigation, police conducted a raid and caught him while he was sleeping in his house.
As many as 85 persons have tested positive for coronavirus in the district.
