Mumbai: Esha Gupta, during a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, opened up about her rumoured relationship with Team India cricketer Hardik Pandya.
The ‘Raaz 3’ actress revealed that while she was friends with the cricketer and talked to him for a brief period, they never actually got involved in a romantic relationship.
“Yeah, for some time we were talking. I don’t think we were dating, but yeah, we were talking for a couple of months. We were at that ‘maybe it will happen, maybe it won’t’ stage. It ended before we even reached the dating stage. So it wasn’t dating-dating. We met once or twice, that’s it. So yeah, as I said, it was a couple of months and then it ended,” Esha shared.
Asked if there was any possibility of a serious relationship, Esha admitted, “maybe could have happened,” adding that they moved on as they were not compatible.
“There was no drama or bitterness. It just wasn’t meant to be,” she added.
Addressing the controversy around Hardik’s remarks on ‘Koffee With Karan’, Esha said that she was unaffected. “That part didn’t affect me, because we had already stopped talking by then,” she said.
For the unversed, Hardik and his teammate KL Rahul landed in a soup for their sexist and racists remarks on KJo’s celebrity chat show.
“When I lost my virginity, I came home and said, ‘Main karke aya hai aaj (I had sex today)’. At a party my parents asked me ‘acha tera wala (women) kaun sa hai (who is your interest here?) so I said yeh, yeh, yeh (pointing out women)’ and they were like ‘waah proud of you beta’,” Hardik had boasted.
He added, “I like to watch and observe how they (women) move. I’m little from the black side so I need to see how they move.”
Both Hardik and Rahul were suspended by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and sent home from India’s tour of Australia. The bans were lifted after they apologised.
“I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone’s sentiments. Respect,” Hardik wrote on X.
On the work front, Esha was last seen in ‘Ek Badnaam Aashram 3’ Part 2 on MX Player alongside Bobby Deol. She also featured as DCP Laxmi Rathi in ‘One Day: Justice Delivered.’
