Cuttack: Evaluation of answer sheets of the annual High School Certificate (HSC) exams conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) began in Odisha on Monday.
Evaluation of papers of the annual Madhyama (Sanskrit) and Odisha State Open School (OSOS) examinations also began simultaneously.
A total of 16,030 teaching staff, including 761 chief examiners, 1,482 deputy chief examiners, 12,265 assistant examiners and 1,522 scrutinisers are engaged in the evaluation process, while 176 examiners are engaged in evaluation of Madhyama (Sanskrit) papers. The evaluation will continue till April 5.
Some examiners were found absent at the evaluation centres, as they are undergoing training for the ensuing Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The evaluation of papers is under way in 60 evaluation centres, of which 50 have been earmarked for evaluation of HSC papers, while evaluation of Madhyama (Sanskrit) and OSOS papers will take place at 10 centres.
BSE has decided to complete the evaluation within 10-12 days before April 5.
The annual HSC examination began on February 22 and concluded on March 8. A total of 5,87,720 students wrote the annual HSC exam at 2,953 centres.
