Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and district administration resumed eviction of illegal shops at Unit 1 market area here on Monday, almost after two months of lockdown.
Shops situated between Raj Mahal Chhak and AG Square were demolished using JCBs during this drive.
“The shop owners had illegally occupied government land. Besides, the eviction drive will enable the public to move freely on the roads,” informed an official.
The eviction drive has sparked resentment among traders, whose products were seen lying unattended on the roadside.
