Puri: Security at the Anand Bazaar of Shree Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri will be overseen by ex-army personnel, Officer on Special Duty (Development) Ajay Jena said on Wednesday.
Twenty retired army personnel will be assigned to supervise and uphold order at the Anand Bazaar. At the headquarters of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration, interviews for the recruitment process have already started with over sixty applicants.
The initiative is being facilitated through a private outsourcing company, with all 20 positions expected to be filled by the end of this month, sources said.
Starting September 1, the newly hired security personnel will be stationed at Anand Bazaar. They’ll get specific training and be subject to a dress code in order to keep an eye on events at the Anand Bazaar, Jena added.
