Bhubaneswar: Former MLA of Khurda, Jyotirindra Nath Mitra, known as Jitu Mitra, joined the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Monday.
Mitra along with his supporters formally joined the ruling party in presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas here.
Notably, Mitra had quit the BJD during the last Assembly election in 2014 and joined the BJP, but denied ticket by the saffron party to contest the election.
