Cuttack: Former Member of Parliament from Odisha and retired IPS officer Anadi Charan Sahu passed away at his residence in Cuttack. He was 83.
Sahu, who was suffering from age-related ailments, breathed his last at his house in CDA area of Cuttack late on Saturday night, family sources said.
After retirement, he had entered active politics. He was elected to 6th Lok Sabha from Berhampur constituency as a BJP candidate in the 1999.
As an IPS officer, he had received President’s Police Medal and Distinguished Service Medal.
Besides being an efficient police officer, he was also a renowned litterateur.
His last rites will be performed at Satichoura cremation ground in Cuttack.
