Bhubaneswar: Former MP Jayaram Pangi joined the BJP at the party
office here on Tuesday.
Pangi, along with hundreds of his supporters, were welcomed to the BJP by Union petroleum minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who said Pangi’s joining will strengthen the party in Odisha.
“I have not set any terms and conditions for joining the BJP. The party will decide my position,” said Pangi, whom BJD placed under suspension on March 12 on charges of anti-party activities following the panchayat elections.
Refuting the allegation of anti-party activities in BJD, he said, “I was a disciplined worker in the BJD and was never indulged in anti-party activities. I did not know the BJD’s intention behind my suspension.”
