Mumbai: Former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh and two others were on Wednesday declared proclaimed offenders by a Mumbai court.
It’s in connection with an extortion case against Param Bir and two others accused Vinay Singh and Riyaz Bhati. Goregaon police registered the case, stating that the trio is absconding and can’t be traced.
On Saturday, the crime branch of Mumbai Police had approached the magistrate’s court, seeking that the three be proclaimed as absconding offenders.

Former assistant police inspector Sachin Waze is also an accused in the case.
Real estate developer and hotelier Bimal Agrawal had alleged that the accused extorted Rs 9 lakh from him and also forced him to buy two smartphones worth around Rs 2.92 lakh for them, PTI reported.
Param Bir is facing an extortion case in Thane as well. He was removed from the post of police commissioner in March 2021 following the arrest of Waze in the Mukesh Ambani-related case, in which explosives were found in an SUV found near the leading industrialist’s residence.
