Ex-Sarpanch’s Son Beaten To Death In Odisha’s Ganjam

Ganjam: A former sarpanch’s son was killed and two others were injured when miscreants attacked them at Ichhapur in Ganjam district’s Polsara police station area late on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Sushant Nayak. He was the son of Dandapani Nayak, the former sarpanch of Pandiripada panchayat. The identity of the attackers is yet to be ascertained.

According to sources, the incident took place when the three victims were returning from Bhubaneswar. The miscreants suddenly pounced on Sushant and started thrashing him. When his associates intervened, they were also attacked.

Villagers rescued the trio and took them to a nearby hospital. While Sushant died on way to hospital, his two associates were undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Police said they have visited the crime scene and further investigation was on to ascertain the motive behind the murderous attack.
