Expansion Of SCB Hospital: Eviction Drive Begins In Cuttack

Cuttack: Three days after the approval of the rehabilitation package for the expansion of the SCB Medical College and Hospital here, the district administration and the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) began the first-phase eviction drive in the periphery of the hospital on Wednesday.

According to reports, the demolition of old quarters of the Water Resources Department has begun at Khalasi Lane in Jobra area.

Prior to the eviction drive, Cuttack Collector Bhabani Shankar Chaini had visited the hospital periphery on Tuesday and made people aware of the package announced by the Chief Minister.

The collector had said that the district administration in consultation with the CMC will rehabilitate about 300 affected families in the area on the opposite side of the Jobra barrage.
