Experts Shed Light On New Income Tax Act At Bhubaneswar Outreach Programme



Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Chapter of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), in collaboration with the Tax Research Department (TRD) of the Institute, recently conducted an outreach programme focused on the New Income Tax Act, 2025, in Bhubaneswar.

The event was part of a nationwide initiative led by the TRD, under the guidance of the Direct Taxation Committee and the Task Force on the Income Tax Act, 2025, in collaboration with the Directorate of Training (DoT), CBDT.

e), OPTCL, Srikant Kumar Sahoo, Director (Finance), OPGCL, Gagan Bihari Swain, Director (Finance), GRIDCO Ltd, Kshirod Chandra Nanda, former President of ICMAI and Chairman of the Task Force on the Income Tax Act, 2025, Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak, and Chairperson, EIRC, Arati Ganguly, also attended the event.

Chairman of the Bhubaneswar Chapter, Sarat Kumar Behera, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the importance of the new tax regime in simplifying compliance and enhancing transparency. Technical sessions were led by noted professionals – Sudhansu Kumar Sahu and Avinash Kotni, who offered detailed explanations of the key provisions and practical implications of the New Income Tax Act, 2025.

The programme saw active participation from a large number of professionals, students, and other stakeholders, serving as an effective forum for knowledge exchange and informed discussions on the recent tax reforms. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Secretary of the Bhubaneswar Chapter, Soumya Ranjan Jena.
