Bhubaneswar: The wife of a senior police officer has lodged a complaint against him for having an extra-marital relationship with a female colleague.
In her complaint, Mamata Sahu said her husband, Angul SDPO Ashwini Kumar Sahu, had been in an illicit relation with a woman police officer since 2011.
Meanwhile, a video clip of the SDPO and the woman police officer in a compromising position has gone viral on social media.
Mamata has urged the Director General of Police (DGP) and the State Commission for Women (SCW) to urgently intervene in the matter.
She mentioned that her marriage was solemnized in 2004. Initially, her conjugal life was smooth. However, it turned bitter after her husband was posted at Jajpur Town police station in 2011.
He indulged in an extra-marital relationship with a woman sub-inspector, who is now promoted to the rank of IIC and posted in Mayurbhanj district.
“While in Jajpur, the woman police officer used to stay with my husband in his official residence during my absence. Although my husband is now posted in Ganjam district, he and the woman police officer go on long leaves and stay together,” she alleged.
“My husband used to beat me whenever I tried to dissuade him from indulging in the illicit relationship. He has even filed for divorce in a court without my knowledge. As I have a grown-up son, I don’t want to divorce my husband and want his return,” she added.
The hapless wife further alleged that the DGP and SCW have taken no steps on her complaint even after a month.
