Delivering his verdict remotely under COVID-19 rules, High Court Justice Martin Chamberlain concluded that the arguments of the diamond merchant’s legal team concerning his “severe depression” and “high risk of suicide” were arguable at a substantial hearing.

Nirav, who is wanted in India in connection with the $2 billion PNB money-laundering and fraud case, is lodged at London’s Wandsworth Prison.
