New Delhi: According to a research conducted by India’s first extramarital dating app Gleeden, around 55% of married Indians have extramarital affairs.
Among the cheaters, nearly 56% are women who have been unfaithful to their spouses.
Speaking about the high percentage of unfaithful women, Solene Paillet, Marketing Director of Gleeden said, “Indian women seem particularly open-minded about infidelity, especially when it involves romance. Gleeden offers a virtual environment where you can start a new love story with like-minded individuals without the downside of a real-life affair. Women can have a full romantic experience, rest ensured that their privacy will be fully protected and their secret will remain safe. That’s why Gleeden is attracting a bigger number of female users every day, it provides them with privacy, discretion and a choice of partners way beyond their usual circles.”
The survey was conducted across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad and involved 1,525 married couples between the age group 25 to 50 years.
Indians can forgive their cheating partners easily because 48% of them feel that falling in love with two people at the same time is not a big deal, whereas 46% have already made up their mind that their partners can cheat on them, while still being in love with them. Thus, 7% of married couples would forgive the partner without making a fuss about it, while 40% would do so if the circumstances were justifying. 69% of couples expect that their partners should also forgive them in return.
Extramarital dating app Gleeden was introduced in India in April 2017. It was already a hit with eight lakh subscribers in the country and the 2018 Supreme Court judgment, decriminalising adultery, made the dating app market achieve great heights.
