Mumbai: Somnath Mohanty, the Odia CISF ASI, who was recently in the news for stopping Bollywood actor Salman Khan at Mumbai’s International airport before he was to travel to Russia for his next film, ‘Tiger 3’, alongside Katrina Kaif, has not been punished.
The actor was photographed at the Mumbai airport with the crew and actors. According to social media footage, Salman avoided the mob. He made his way to the airport gate when Mohanty stationed at the door stopped him for the mandatory security checkup. Salman was told to reveal his face and clear the security check before he could be allowed into the airport.
Later, Mohanty, who hails from Rayagada district, shared a video of the incident with a media outlet based out of Odisha and also spoke to the organisation.
It was reported that Mohanty’s mobile phone was seized following the incident as a punishment.
Now, it has come to light that Mohanty has in fact been rewarded for his exemplary professionalism.
An official tweet read, “The contents of this tweet are incorrect & without factual basis. In fact, the officer concerned has been suitably rewarded for exemplary professionalism in the discharge of his duty.”
