Mumbai: A viral screenshot claiming that Deepika Padukone criticised the ideology of ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has been circulating on social media.
However, News18 Showsha reported that the screenshot is fake.
The viral Instagram story read, “Dhurandhar has been watched, and it is worth every minute of its 3 hours and 49 minutes. I can proudly say my husband is the best. So incredibly proud of you, @ranveersingh.”
It further mentioned, “As an actor and a citizen of this great nation, I feel it is our responsibility to p
resent the truth and the right facts without being influenced by any political ideology. While I disagree with a few things shown, I cannot deny how much I enjoyed watching this film. Congratulations to the entire cast and crew, and to the captain of the ship, @adityadharfilms.”
However, as per News18, the screenshot doing the rounds on social media is fake as Deepika didn’t post any Insta story for ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge.’
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel of ‘Dhurandhar’ continues from where the first part ended.
The film also stars Arjun Rampal as ISI Major Iqbal, R. Madhavan as Ajay Sanyal, Sanjay Dutt as SP Choudhary, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi in pivotal roles.
The film is performing strongly at the box office and has crossed the Rs 300-crore mark worldwide within three days of its release.
