Fact Check: Has ‘Lucknow Girl’ Been Arrested For Slapping A Cab Driver?

New Delhi: After the video of a woman thrashing a cab driver in the middle of the road in Lucknow went viral, there has been an uproar amongst netizens with some calling for her arrest while others defending her.

The woman, Priyadarshini Narayan Yadav, is seen crossing the road at a traffic signal while a cab stops very close to her. The woman then has an altercation with the driver and slaps him continuously.

Some have marked this as abuse of feminism, some pointed out that the driver jumped the signal while others said the woman crossed the road while the signal was green.

Now, a video claiming the woman’s arrest is doing rounds on social media.

However, this video is misleading. The woman in this video is Anuradha Chaudhary, also known as ‘lady don’, ‘Revolver Rani’ or ‘Rajasthan don’ and an associate of notorious gangster Kala Jathedi. The video is of 2017.

India Today has confirmed from Lucknow police that Priyadarshini is not arrested yet.

There is an FIR registered in her name.

This is the original video of Priyadarshini thrashing the cab driver.

Anuradha Chaudhary was arrested for crimes like kidnapping, extortion, Arms and Excise Act violations, and cheating.
