Fact Check: Is Hema Malini’s Daughter Esha Deol Joining Politics?

Mumbai: Esha Deol, who made the headlines recently after announcing her separation from husband Bharat Takhtani, is in the news again.

There is a buzz that Hema Malini’s elder daughter may join politics.

Though Esha herself hasn’t said anything on this matter, a strong hint came from her actor-turned-politician mother.

In fact, the ‘Dreamgirl’ of Bollywood said both her daughters, Esha and Ahana, could follow her footsteps into politics.

Speaking to ABP, the actor said that both her daughters, Esha and Ahana, can join the field if they are interested.

“Esha is very much inclined for that… She likes to do it. So may be in next few years, if she is interested, she will join politics,” Hema told ABP.

Hema, who campaigned for BJP candidate and former actor Vinod Khanna ahead of the 1999 Lok Sabha elections, formally joined the party in 2004.

She was first made a Rajya Sabha member before the 75-year-old won 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha polls from Mathura constituency.

It remains to be seen is Esha takes the plunge ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha election and is given a ticket by the saffron party.

Esha and Takhtani, who mutually decided to end their 12-year-old marriage, have two daughters, Radhya and Miraya.
