New Delhi: If Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are on Karan Johar’s show, how can sparks not fly and revelations not be made?
Bollywood’s favourite real and reel-life couple featured on the first episode of Koffee With Karan Season 8, which dropped on Disney+ Hotstar on October 26.
It was Deepika and Ranveer’s first appearance together on a show since they got married in Italy five years ago.
The duo gave major power couple goals on the show, and was “unapologetically authentic”, according to Johar.
There were multiple highlights, one of those coming during the Rapid Fire round when it came to light that Johar could make a remake of the 1964 hit film ‘Sangam’, which was helmed by Ranbir’s grandfather Raj Kapoor who also played the lead role in a triangular love story also featuring Vyjayanthimala and Rajendra Kumar.
On Koffee With Karan, Ranveer was asked about a love triangle featuring himself and Deepika.
“In a love triangle featuring you and Deepika, which male actor would you not mind being cast to be the third character?” Johar asked.
“Ranbir (Kapoor),” Ranveer replied, not having any qualms about naming his wife’s former boyfriend.
Ranveer then remarked that Johar “had wanted to make Sangam with the three of us, right?”
After Johar replied in the affirmative, Ranveer quipped: “You are always boasting but make nothing concrete.”
Johar said he can still make Sangam, and asked “Sign it?”
Deepika immediately replied, “Done.”
Johar said he was “dying” to make it.
It remains to be seen if, and when, Johar actually gets going with ‘Sangam’.
