Mumbai: Less than a fortnight after Sonakshi Sinha got married to Zaheer Iqbal, rumours started doing the rounds that the Bollywood actress is expecting their first child.
Such speculations were triggered by a visit to the hospital by the couple a few days after their marriage.
Some wondered whether Sonakshi’s pregnancy was the reason for them tying the knot.
The ‘Heeramandi’ star, however, took a jibe at those spreading the rumour.
Asked how life was, post marriage, Sonakshi told Times Now: “It’s (life) never been better. The beauty of it is I am feeling pretty much the same. I am happy that my life was so set before the wedding, and I am back at it. I am very happy to be back to work.”
Tongue firmly in her cheek, Sonakshi added: “The only change is ab hum hospital nahi ja sakte, kyunki jaisi hi aap niklo, logo ko lagta hai ki aap pregnant ho (the only change is that I can’t go to the hospital now because as soon as I step out, people think I’m pregnant).”
So why did the actress, who is currently promoting her upcoming film ‘Kakuda’, go to the hospital?
Sonakshi and Zaheer were actually visiting the former’s father Shatrughan Sinha, who was hospitalised for a fever.
Sonakshi’s brother Luv Sinha confirmed Shatrughan’s hospitalisation.
“My father had high fever and we decided to take him to the hospital so that he could recover and we could have his yearly tests done as well. I have been going there (to the hospital) every day… there was no surgical procedure,” Luv was quoted as saying by PTI.
