Fact Check: Was Bigg Boss Fame Abdu Rozik Arrested At Dubai Airport?

Abdu rozik detained at Dubai airport

Dubai: Many were stunned by a news doing the rounds from Sunday morning – that Abdu Rozik, a popular singer, actor and social media influencer, was arrested at Dubai International Airport.

Former Bigg Boss contestant Rozik, a Tajikistan national, was reportedly taken into custody by airport authorities on suspicion of theft around 5 am over the weekend, shortly after he landed in Dubai from Montenegro.

A well-known figure in the Middle East, Rozik had flown to Dubai to attend an award ceremony.

However, Rozik’s management team refuted media reports.

“First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released. Today he will participate in the award ceremony which will be held in Dubai,” said a statement from S-Line Project, which manages Rozik.

“Secondly information in media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image. Also, we will provide you with all the information later to inform the Indian people. Believe us, we have a lot to say regarding this issue.”

Rozik, who featured in Salman Khan-hosted Bigg Boss 16, responded to the news by posting a story on his Instagram handle. He also shared videos of himself at the award function in Dubai. In one of the clips, Rozik was seen alongside his Bigg Boss 16 co-contestant and close friend, Shiv Thakare.

Rozik was last seen on Laughter Chefs Season 2, but had to exit the show after a few weeks due to visa-related issues that required him to return home.
