New Delhi: A document claiming that dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for central government employees and pensioners respectively will be resumed from July 1, 2021 has gone viral on social media.
However, Ministry of Finance and PIB fact check handle have rubbished the claim and called it a fake news.
The Ministry tweeted that no such order has been passed by the Centre.
Due to the pandemic, the DA and DR have not been revised since January 1, 2020. A total of three instalments are pending. The decision on clearing these arrears has not been taken yet, and will be done based on the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, it added.
