Cuttack: Betrayed in love, a youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a moving train in Cuttack.   The body was recovered from the railway tracks near Matru Bhawan on Saturday.

The youth, identified as Manoj Swain of Niali area, reportedly recorded a video on his cellphone. In the video, Manoj is heard saying that he was forced to take the extreme step after the girl with whom he was in a relationship for past fews started ignoring him and informed him about her decision to marry another guy.

A handwritten suicide note was also recovered from the spot, said GRP personnel, who seized the body and sent it for postmortem.

Manoj was working in a private company in Cuttack and staying in a rented house at Rausapatana area of the city.

Talking to the media, father of the deceased said that the girl, after completing her studies with financial assistance from his son, ditched him and decided to marry another youth.

Claiming that she was responsible for the death of his son, the father demanded action against her.

Meanwhile, the GRP, which had earlier registered an unnatural death case, said it will register a criminal case on the basis of the suicide note of the deceased and the statement of his father.
