Jeypore: Police busted a duplicate tobacco manufacturing unit and arrested one person in this connection in Koraput district on Wednesday.
Acting on reliable information, police conducted a raid on the unit in Semiliguda and seized a huge amount of gutkha and tobacco products and sachets bearing popular brands.
Sunabeda SDPO Manoj Behera said value of the seized tobacco was estimated to be more than Rs 50 lakh. Besides tobacco products, 11 manufacturing units were also seized from the place.
The owner of the unit was arrested and will be forwarded to the court. Further investigation is on.
