Puri: A fake jawan was detained by the police during the Independence Day celebrations at Talabania parade ground in Odisha’s Puri on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the youth dressed in the uniform of Army jawan was spotted in the dedicated gallery for the media persons.
Finding the activities of the youth suspicious as he had covered his face, some senior officials started interacting with him. Subsequently, it was found that the youth had entered the venue by impersonating a jawan.
While the exact reason behind his visit to the parade venue dressed as a jawan is yet to be ascertained, police have started an investigation into the incident. The man is being interrogated to ascertain the motive behind his move.
