Bhubaneswar: A person was held for impersonating as an official of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) on Sunday. The accused has been identified as Smith Sethi.
According to sources, Sethi allegedly entered the house of retired animal husbandry department official Dambarudhara Biswal for some work. Later, while interrogation, suspicion rose on Sethi. Biswal then with the help of local people gheraoed Sethi and later handed him over to police.
When contacted, Dambarudhara Biswal said, “When I asked Sethi to show his identity card during interrogation, Sethi failed to do so, which made me suspicious upon him.”
Further interrogation is underway.
