Rourkela: A fake examinee was arrested from Rourkela DAV Public School here while writing CBSE National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2018 exams for another student on Sunday.

He was identified as Ramesh Kumar, a native of Dunguri village in Rajasthan.

According to reports, the school authorities caught him while collecting signatures from all the examinees. They then informed Udit Nagar police, which reached the examination centre and arrested him.

The accused was taking the exam for one S. Biswal of Khurda district, police said, adding that they suspect that he was part of a proxy examinee racket.
Over 40,000 students from Odisha took the premier entrance examination for admission into undergraduate MBBS and BDS courses across the country, at 40 centres with authorities conducting stringent checks on dress code to avoid any malpractice during the examination.
