Baripada: Police on Friday arrested the mastermind of a counterfeit note racket.
The arrested was identified as Sk Samiluddin, a native of Balasore district.
Police seized 90 counterfeit currencies of Rs 2,000 denomination from his possession.
Circulation of a fake note racket came to light on Wednesday when two college students were caught by a cloth trader of Baripada after he found that a Rs 2000 note offered by them was fake. Later, he handed over the two youths to Rasagobindpur police.
During interrogation of the two students, police came to know that Samiluddin was the mastermind of the racket.
