Bhawanipatna: The police on Tuesday seized fake currency notes worth
Rs 68,000 from a youth at Palam area in Kalahandi district.
The youth, hailing from Titlagarh area, had gone to exchange 31 fake
Rs 2,000 notes and 12 fake notes in Rs 500 denominations in a bank.
The officials of the bank, however, informed the nearby Palam outpost
about the same. Following which the police caught hold of the person
and handed him over to Kesingha police.
“The accused is being questioned. We will conduct further
investigation to find out who else is involved in the racket and
whether this person had supplied more fake notes to other parts of the
state”, a police officer informed.
