Fake Sauce-Making Unit Busted In Bhubaneswar: Manager Among 3 Arrested

Bhubaneswar: A day after busting a duplicate sauce manufacturing unit in Bhubaneswar, police arrested three persons in connection with the illegal operation on Wednesday.

According to sources, the manager and two employees of the fake sauce-making unit, located in Bhimatangi area of the city, were arrested by Bhubaneswar Airfield Police after preliminary investigation into the matter.

Notably, the illegal unit was busted and a number of ingredients and raw materials were seized by the police during a special operation conducted on Tuesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a special squad of the city police along with the officials of food and safety authority conducted a raid and busted the duplicate sauce-making unit which was preparing tomato and chili sauce.

Sources said the team seized several raw materials including pumpkin, potatoes and some hazardous substances, which were used to prepare the tomato and chili sauces. Several packaging materials worth lakhs of rupees were also seized.

The illegal unit, which was reportedly running for the last several years without any valid license, has been sealed, the sources added.
