Cuttack: In a joint operation, the Commissionerate Police and the enforcement team of the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) busted a fake tobacco manufacturing unit at Malgodown area in the city on Sunday.
Acting on tip-off, the police conducted raid on the unit and seized five to seven quintal of spurious tobacco and related products and 10 quintal of ganja products.
The police detained the owner of the factory and launched an investigation into the matter, sources said.
A few months before, police had busted several units producing adulterated tea, ghee, masala, edible oil, soya chunks and tobacco in the district.
